Summer Jobs Available

Grace Fellowship Church East Toronto is looking for three summer workers. The work term will be eight weeks, 35 hours a week. The jobs will be completed before August 31, 2024.

These jobs are funded by the Canada Summer Jobs grant. To be eligible, youth must:

  • be between 15 and 30 years of age at the beginning of the employment period.
  • be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or person to whom refugee protection has been conferred under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act for the duration of the employment; and,
  • have a valid Social Insurance Number at the start of employment and be legally entitled to work in Canada in accordance with relevant provincial or territorial legislation and regulations.

The youth must be 15 years of age at the beginning of the employment period. The youth may be more than 30 years of age at the end of the employment period as long as the youth was 30 at the beginning of the employment period.

International students are not eligible.

Website administrator

We are looking for a skilled Website Administrator with a strong background in website migration to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing the transition of our current website to a new platform, ensuring a smooth and efficient migration process.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Evaluate the existing website architecture and content to determine migration requirements.
  • Develop a comprehensive migration plan, including timelines, milestones, and risk assessment.
  • Coordinate with web developers, designers, and content teams to facilitate the transfer of data and functionality to the new website.
  • Oversee the technical aspects of the migration process, including the transfer of databases, applications, and user data.
  • Ensure website functionality and performance are maintained throughout the migration process.
  • Test the new website thoroughly to identify any issues before going live.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve any problems that arise during the migration.
  • Provide training and support to staff on the new platform as needed.
  • Maintain clear documentation of the migration process and any changes made.

 

Camp leader

We are seeking an energetic and enthusiastic Youth Leader to help run our summer camp program for kids. This individual will be instrumental in creating a fun, safe, and engaging environment for campers to enjoy a variety of activities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in planning, organizing, and leading daily camp activities such as games, sports, crafts, and educational sessions.
  • Supervise groups of children to ensure safety and foster a positive camp experience.
  • Serve as a role model and mentor for campers, demonstrating enthusiasm and a positive attitude.
  • Help maintain the cleanliness and organization of the camp facilities and equipment.
  • Communicate effectively with camp staff and parents regarding camper experiences and concerns.
  • Respond to emergencies and provide first aid assistance as needed.

 

Community Organization Worker

We are seeking a dynamic and community-oriented individual for a summer position to help our church connect with and serve the local community. The Community Outreach Assistant will work closely with church leaders to identify community needs, develop outreach initiatives, and foster relationships with local residents and organizations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct research and engage with the community to identify local needs and opportunities for church involvement.
  • Assist in the planning, coordination, and execution of community service projects and events.
  • Build and maintain positive relationships with community members and local organizations.
  • Help organize and manage volunteers for various outreach programs.
  • Collect and report feedback from community activities to inform future church initiatives.
  • Support the church's communication efforts by creating content for social media, newsletters, and other platforms to highlight community outreach activities.
